Anaconda Nickel NL said it hopes to finalise the sale of a minority stake in its WA Murrin Murrin nickel/cobalt project within three months. A shareholder’s meeting was told the company had held talks with several major mining and metal trading companies as potential joint venture equity partners. Technical director Geoffrey Motteram said the bankable feasibility study on the proposed 3.75 million tonne a year project in WA’s North Eastern Goldfields was on schedule. It was to be completed by the end of April. Capital costs are expected to be between $600 million and $700 million.
