WA premier to pay back family hotel costs

An emotional Western Australian premier has promised to reimburse more than $2,000 in accommodation costs after coming under fire for bringing his family on official regional trips, saying "hurtful" and "vile" attacks by the opposition must stop.

Our politicians work long hours for low pay and Mr McGowan is right, he probably does not see his children as much as he wants (or should. Rather than accusations, how about something along the lines of, 'Mark, not a legitimate expense, please repay'. When our various elected representatives start treating each other respect and consideration perhaps we, the electorate, might start to develop some respect for them, instead of being exasperated with the name calling, finger pointing children that seem to be in parliament now. Both federal and state, that is.
