THE finalists for the 2004 Western Australian Industry and Export Awards have been announced.
Almost 30 finalists have been named in 14 industry and export categories.
State Development Minister Clive Brown said the awards process indicated the State’s export sector was growing strongly.
He said there were more than 50 newcomers to the process this year, the awards’ 16th, and applications were up by more than 30 per cent.
The winners will be announced on Friday October 22 and will represent the State at the Australian Export Awards at the Gold Coast in December.
Last year, Albany-based Mt Romance won the national small to medium manufacturer award, while Robe River Mining Company was named Australian Mineral and Energy exporter of the year.
