WA and Qld lead Aust population growth

The mining states of WA and Queensland are driving population growth in Australia according to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

It will be great if majority of this population could be settled in regional Australia or in the Northern Territory, it will serve their small economies. At this stage the regional areas and the NT need the numbers so that they can afford to build and have access to vital infrastructure. Without the numbers, it is not financially viable for the government to invest and successfully implement good projects in these regions. On the other side, Australia being such a big country has only 4 big cities and they are struggling to cope with new people. Some other smaller countries have close to 10 big cities with even better infrastructure.
