According to latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, accommodation providers with 15 or more rooms took in $211.6 million in the three months to the end of September 2008.
The compared with the June quarter's $220.5 million, seasonally adjusted.
Meanwhile occupancy rate in the September quarter was at 68.1 per cent, seasonally adjusted, compared to the June quarter's 70.3 per cent.
The figures follow yesterday's news that visitor number to Australia had declined last year.
