WA Mining Conference and Exhibition kicks off today with soaring registrations proving it is the place to meet with industry, engage with suppliers and even find a way into the mining industry.
Taking place on 12-13 October at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the free-to-attend exhibition will feature over 120 suppliers in an expanded floor plan.
Exhibitors include SmartTech Australia, Acubis Technologies, Austdac, Accumax Global, Damstra Technology, Hedweld Engineering, IBM, and Field Mining Services Group.
Two exciting features of the WA Mining exhibition are a seminar series sponsored by IBM and aimed at upskilling attendees in areas like technology, smart mining and safety, plus the always-popular Mining House pavilion, featuring Roy Hill, Northern Star and Rio Tinto.
Exhibition attendees can visit the Mining House Pavilion to discover the latest recruitment opportunities, and engage with some of the key players in the Western Australian market.
Rio Tinto’s Group Technical Managing Director, Santi Pal, believes the supplier engagement at industry events like WA Mining helps strengthen relationships.
“We’re proud to lead the way in autonomous mining technology across the Pilbara. Our relationships with suppliers only helps to broaden our thinking and innovation perspective. The future in digital and autonomous mining is significant – and WA Mining helps to increase the visibility of that future.”
Northern Star’s Australian gold mining operations will be represented in the Mining Pavilion. The team is looking forward to meeting plenty of current mining personnel and attracting new-to-industry talent.
Marianne Dravnieks, Executive Manager People and Culture said, “In the current environment, finding the right people makes all the difference to our workplace, delivering production and getting results – so we’re looking at all avenues to encourage interest from existing and new-to-industry candidates. Come and meet the Northern Star team at the conference and find out what it’s like to work in our world-class underground and open pit operations and the many exciting opportunities you could have as part of our company.”
Alongside the free-to-attend expo, WA Mining’s paid conference features more than 40 speakers, presenting thought leadership across the value chain in mining technology, digital developments and decarbonisation. Tickets to the conference are already sold out.
Attendees can still register for the free-to-attend exhibition and seminar series via waminingexpo.com.au.
