WA Legislation

Criminal Code

The WA Government has put before Parliament a set of amendments to the Criminal Code.

The changes address a wide range of issues, including the legal distinction between murder and wilful murder, and goods contamination, aquaculture theft, victims of crime identification, paedophile sex tour, mantrap, female circumcision, sexual servitude, and accompanied burglary offences.

Prostitution Control

The Prostitution Control Bill 2003 now before State Parliament, covers issues of brothel location and control, and the formation of a Prostitution Control Board.

The new bill follows the Prostitution Control Green Bill 2002, for which 200 submissions were received during a public consultation period.
