THE state government has donated $20,000 to the St Vincent de Paul Society as part of its Christmas Appeal.
Police and Road Safety Minister Liza Harvey presented the cheque on behalf of Premier Colin Barnett at the launch of the Christmas Appeal last week.
“This event is an opportunity for the St Vincent de Paul Society to acknowledge the support of the community in 2012, and to share some of the stories of the people they serve,” Mrs Harvey said.
“These include youth, people living with mental illness, the homeless and families and individuals assisted with emergency relief support.”
The theme for this year’s Christmas Appeal is ‘In every face of despair we see a face of hope’.
