View clear for drilling

PROSPECTIVE gold producer View Resources has announced plans for an extensive drilling program at its Cockburn gold deposit, about 12 kilometres from its Bronzewing plant. The drilling program builds on the recent completion of a pre-feasibility study into underground mining at Cockburn, View said. “The pre-feasibility study shows that Cockburn Underground has a minimum five-year mine life and the drilling program will increase our understanding of the existing resources and test some areas of near mine extensions,” View managing director Derek Lenartowicz said. “This is a very exciting development for View, and subject to the outcome of the drilling program, we are on track to start mining at Bronzewing in the first half of 2006.” Current resources at Cockburn Underground stand at 2.62 million tonnes at five grams of gold per tonne containing 418,000 ounces of gold.
