Viento wins $5m rail works deal

Equipment hire contractor Viento Group has won a $5 million contract with Ansaldo STS for upgrades to Rio Tinto’s iron ore rail network.

Viento said its subsidiary, Mineworks Group, would mobilise equipment this week under the contract, which will initially run until October next year.

“This is a significant opportunity for Mineworks to grow our hire fleet,” managing director John Gallop said.

“We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership with Ansaldo STS.”

At 12:30PM, WST, Viento Group shares were up 10.3 per cent, trading at 32 cents.
