Viento in JV with Kimberley Pipelines

Civil and mining industry contractor Viento Group has announced a joint venture with 100 per cent indigenous owned Kimberley Pipelines, expanding Viento’s services into the pipeline construction industry.

The contract adds to Viento’s history of joint ventures with indigenous owned businesses, with the mining services company last year forming a partnership with traditional owners Koodaideri to form KVG Joint Venture.

The Koodaideri Viento JV was awarded a $5 million road maintenance contract with Rio Tinto’s Nammuldi project earlier this year, following its $7 million contract for repairs to Rio Tinto’s Dampier Salt facility last year.

Kimberley Pipelines recent projects include the installation of high density polyethylene at Rio’s Hope Down 4 Mine and BHP Billiton’s Mt Whaleback sites.

The joint venture is tendering for work and Viento executive chairman Ray Munro said it would provide an opportunity to expand the range of services provided to the mining industry.

Viento's share price closed at 20 cents per share.
