Van Dyk resigns as Macmahon CEO

Sybrandt Van Dyk has announced his resignation as chief executive of Macmahon Holdings, with general manager of surface mining Michael Finnegan to succeed him as head of the local contractor.

Mr Van Dyk joined Macmahon in 2014 as chief financial officer, before replacing Ross Carroll as CEO in July last year.

He will leave Macmahon in November to take up a position with an unnamed private de-watering business.

“During his time with Macmahon, Sybrandt has been instrumental in steering the company through a major transformation and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” chairman Jim Walker said.

Mr Finnegan has been with Macmahon since 2014. He will step into his new role after completing a handover of responsibilities with Mr Van Dyk.

His remuneration is yet to be finalised.

Prior to joining Macmahon, Mr Finnegan held senior roles at CIMIC Group (then known as Leighton Group).

“We look forward to working with Mick in his new role as he applies his considerable experience and knowledge across the company,” Mr Walker said.

Macmahon shares were unchanged at 11 cents each at 10:15am.
