Engineering and construction group Valmec has secured a $4.3 million contract for work at Vector Gas’s compression project in Auckland.

Engineering and construction group Valmec has secured a $4.3 million contract for work at Vector Gas’s compression project in Auckland.

The scope of work involves the supply, installation supervision and commissioning of two gas compressor packages for New Zealand-based Vector Gas, with work to begin immediately.

“The packages will be designed and manufactured by Exterran Offshore, a subsidiary of NYSE-listed Exterran Corporation and with whom Valmec has a sales representation agreement,” Valmec said in a statement.

Exterran’s works will be undertaken at their Singapore facilities.”

Start-up and commissioning phases of the project are expected to be completed by mid-2017.

Valmec managing director Steve Dropulich said the company looked forward to expanding its east coast and New Zealand markets.

Valmec shares were unchanged at 11 cents each at 10:45am.
