Valmec wins $7.5m in contracts

Engineering and construction group Valmec has won several contracts with undisclosed clients, worth a combined $7.5 million.

In a statement, Valmec said the contracts extended across infrastructure, oil and gas maintenance services and construction, at sites located in Western Australia and South Australia.

Managing director Steve Dropulich said the contracts reflected the depth of Valmec’s service offerings through different industry sectors.

“Notwithstanding some short-term challenges in the gas sector which have delayed the commencement of larger construction opportunities, Valmec’s ability to scale and diversify its projects mix by using its in-house delivery capabilities, together with its recent acquisition of the Exterran operations and maintenance business, will continue to hold it in good stead during this cycle,” Mr Dropulich said.

Valmec said it was working closely with a number of oil and gas explorers and producers as they develop their infrastructure programs.

“Working closely with these clients places Valmec in a strong position to secure these projects when they proceed,” it said.

Valmec shares were unchanged at 17.5 cents each at 9:30am.
