Vale Harry Kitson

WELL-KNOWN Perth business man Henry “Harry” Kitson, AM, F.C.A., died in Perth earlier this month after a brief illness. He was 77.

Mr Kitson has had a long and distinguished business career and was involved in many community organisations.

Before his most recent position as director of the Mannwest Group, Mr Kitson was a director of Croesus Mining NL (1987-1998), chairman of Hopkins Insurance Brokers PL and president of WA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1989-1990).

Other key roles included chief executive and chairman of Kimberley-NZI Finance Ltd (1974-1987), chairman of the Sir Frank Ledger Charitable Trust, deputy chairman of Chamberlain Holdings Ltd, Board of Advice member for Elders Limited and deputy state president of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He was also trustee and treasurer of the Anglican Diocese, Perth, State Registrar WA Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and from 1951-1971 a Partner Hendry, Rae and Court, where he became Senior Partner.
