Upcoming AmCham luncheons

The American Chamber of Commerce, together with the West Australian Ballet, is hosting a ‘Visions for the Future’ luncheon with guest speaker Dr Ken Michael, August 16 at the Sheraton Hotel. On January 18 2006, Dr Michael was sworn in as the 30th Governor of Western Australia. Previously, Dr Michael was chancellor of the University of Western Australia. He was also chairman of the East Perth Redevelopment Authority, a member of the Economic Regulation Authority, and a former commissioner of Main Roads WA. The chamber is also hosting an executive luncheon with guest speaker Andrew Forrest, CEO of Fortescue Metals Group Ltd, August 22 at the Sheraton. Mr Forrest founded Anaconda Nickel Ltd (now known as Minara Resources) and was founding chairman of the Murrin Murrin joint venture. Mr Forrest’s current focus is on the development of the Pilbara Iron Ore Infrastructure Project. Registration for either of these events costs $70 for AmCham members and $90 for non members.
