Universal Constructions has bolstered its work in the education sector, having won a $23 million contract to build a new primary school in Mandurah.

The contract, awarded by the Department of Finance (on behalf of the Department of Education) in December, is for the construction of the $25.8 million Madora Bay Primary School.

Madora is one of a number of new public schools opening in 2023, with others including Landsdale South, Wellard Village and West Swan (Dayton).

Universal was appointed to the Landsdale build in November last year, with its contract worth about $22 million.

Work on the Mandurah school is set to finish in January 2023.

Osborne Park-based Universal is also completing the second lot of works to the Yarralinka Primary School in Southern River under a $12.5 million contract awarded from the Department of Finance in October.
