United Group Ltd has won several new rail contracts worth $100 million which include the building of iron ore wagons for BHP Billiton's operations in the Pilbara region.
The Sydney-based company, which has a workshop in Bassendean, will supply 315 wagons to BHP, taking the total number of wagons the company has sold to the miner to more than 2500.
United Group will also provide 10 locomotives, with an option for a further 30 to leasing company CFCL Australia, and 13 sulphuric acid tank wagons to chemical manufacturer Incitec Pivot's operations in Townsville.
