DIVERSIFIED services company United Group has secured $280 million in new and expanded contracts through its engineering construction and industrial maintenance business United KG.
Among the new projects is a contract to provide mechanical and electrical packages in various process buildings throughout the refinery. In addition, a two year extension was negotiated for the mechanical and electrical site contract for the Pinjarra and Wagerup refineries, extending the contract to 2008.
The upgrade will increase the refinery’s alumina production by an extra 600,000 tonnes per year.
Meanwhile the company has signed another contract to supply, fabricate, assemble and deliver the car dumper structure and positioner for Metso Minerals to service iron ore. Metso Minerals, a subsidiary of Metso Corporation, is a global rock and minerals processing company.
