Union threat

Building unions will target prominent government-funded building projects in the lead-up to the next State election, according to the Master Builders Association.

“The message from building sites is that the building unions have decided to become more militant as a means to become more relevant before the next election,” MBA director Michael McLean said.

“It is an ill-conceived strategy because it is alienating the builders and sub-contractors with whom the unions have the best relationships.”
