Underground Mining 2005

IIR Conferences presents the third annual Underground Mining conference from July 26 to 28 at the Duxton Hotel. The focus for Underground Mining 2005 is innovation, automation, planning and safety, with the aim being to provide a balanced strategic, practical and technical update on underground mining today. There will be best practice case studies from PT Freeport Indonesia, Placer Dome Osborne Mine, Harmony Gold Mt Marion, Warrior Gold Mine Charters Towers Queensland, Barrick Gold Darlot Mine, TIP mining and Aquila Mining. A variety of presentations from industry leaders including: • Philippines Mines & Geosciences Bureau director Horacio Ramos; • Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA executive director Claire Thomas; • Mining People International general manager Steve Heather; • TIP Mining managing director Tim McPherson; and • Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (University of Queensland) senior project engineer Italo Onederra.
