UWA med school anniversary

THE University of Western Australia medical school celebrates its 50th anniversary this week by presenting graduates from 1957 and 1958 with Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees from UWA, five decades after the completion of their courses. The school originally required students to undertake four years of study in South Australia, meaning that students who began their UWA study in the early years had never received any documentation, having graduated across the border. The university will hold a graduation ceremony in March.
