UWA GSM Breakfast – ‘The Demise of MG Rover’

The Western Australian Club is organising a networking breakfast for February 8 at the WA Club members dining room. Speaker Douglas Briggs (B Com. B Ec. CPA) will discuss the issue of corporate failure, making strong references to MG Rover – the last of the British car manufacturers to disappear after a prolonged period of opportunism and greed. Mr Briggs, honorary senior research fellow in management in The University of Glasgow Business School (UK), will explore the reasons for the decline and discuss the wider implications for corporate governance, the role and government and the accountability of large private companies. The breakfast seminar will run from 7.30 – 9am and costs $40 for WA Club members and $45 for non-members. For more information contact the WA Club on 9481 7000.
