AUSTRALIA’S wheat exporter is facing a month-long suspension from a US government credit program over the Iraq oil-for-food scandal. But the former Australian Wheat Board, now known as AWB, said it was confident it would convince the United States Department of Agriculture that it should be allowed back into the program. AWB Ltd confirmed its 30-day suspension from the USDA Supplier Credit Guarantee Program. The department had told the company the move was a direct result of an international inquiry into the corruption-ridden oil-for-food program.
