UGL has won a contract worth up to $400 million for maintenance and turnaround work with Chevron.

The contract for the CIMIC Group subsidiary will have an extendable term of up to 10 years, and generate about $40 million of revenue annually.

UGL will deliver front-line and campaign maintenance, brownfield execution and turnaround work at Chevron’s Wheatstone and WA Oil facilities in the Pilbara, starting this month.

“The Chevron-operated Gorgon and Wheatstone natural gas facilities continue to underpin local opportunities for communities and businesses, representing a significant contribution to the Australian economy,” a spokesperson for Chevron said.

CIMIC chief executive Juan Santamaria said the contract would generate work for 300 people, with half of subcontracted services to be sourced in the area.

Two major maintenance contracts were awarded by Chevron earlier this year.

Ventia won a 10-year maintenance contract at Chevron’s Gorgon LNG facility worth about $1 billion.

In March, AGC secured a 10-year contract for onshore and offshore facilities in the north-west, including maintenance and workshop management.
