The sale will save around 150 jobs.

RCR Tomlinson Administrators McGrathNicol has announced UGL has purchased the RCR upgrades and maintenance business.

McGrathNicol administrator Jamie Harris said the latest deal had secured the jobs and entitlements of 150 employees.

“This is an excellent outcome for the circa 150 U&M employees who are transferring to UGL with their entitlements recognised and also for U&M customers who will continue to be able to engage U&M to provide ongoing high quality services,” Mr Harris said.

The upgrades and maintenance division is based in Newcastle, NSW.

Last month, the sale of RCR’s Western Australian assets was completed, after RCR Resources, RCR Power and RCR Water West was sold to AvidSys Group for an undisclosed sum.

McGrathNicol previously sold four other RCR businesses across Australia.

It sold RCR O'Donnell Griffin's rail business to John Holland for an undisclosed sum and RCR's energy services business to The Environmental Group for $3 million.

Its laser business was sold to Unique Metal Works for an undisclosed sum, and NRW Holdings purchased its mining and heat treatment businesses for $10 million.
