The Public Transport Authority has awarded an engineering services contract for its network and infrastructure division to joint ventures involving SMEC and GHD.

The contract has a final expiry date of May 2024.

The Public Transport Authority has awarded an engineering services contract for its network and infrastructure division to joint ventures involving SMEC and GHD.

SMEC is in partnership with Calibre, while GHD and Aurecon are in a joint venture.

Under the contract, worth about $30 million, the two firms will be utilised by the PTA on an ongoing basis to provide a broad range of rail engineering services, expertise and skills to the division’s panel.

The contract has a final expiry date of May 2024.

The PTA said its network and infrastructure division was responsible for the safe management and operation of its rail and station infrastructure.

The two joint ventures beat 17 other submissions for the contract.
