INTEGRATED online and retail travel group Travelshop Limited has announced the appointment of Ansett Australia sales and marketing executive Glenn Robertson as its managing director to spearhead its long-term growth strategy.
Mr Robertson joins Travel-shop from the position of general manager Olympics with Ansett Australia, where he led the airline’s Olympics 2000 Investment Program.
Previously, he was director national sales with Ansett and held senior marketing and sales positions with Cadbury-Schweppes.
Travelshop director Rob Nichevich said Mr Robertson brought an exceptional range of skills and talents to Travelshop and would play a key role in taking the company’s growth plans forward.
“Travelshop has an exciting future as it grows and develops using electronic technology to supplement its existing business or retail outlets and telephone marketing through a national call centre,” Mr Nichevich said.
He said Travelshop was Australia’s only fully integrated travel business operating through retail outlets, a national call centre and an online operation.
The Perth-based company has also formed an alliance with the nation’s largest retailer, Coles Myer Ltd, which will establish Travelshop as the exclusive travel provider on the colesmyer.com portal and give the company access to CML’s large retail database.
