Transfield wins Woodside contract

Transfield Services has signed an agreement to provide multidiscipline implementation services on the offshore facilities of the Woodside Petroleum-operated North West Shelf project.

The scope of work includes electrical and instrumentation, mechanical, inspection, cladding/insulation, blasting and painting, scaffolding, rope access and web decking under a two-year contract, with two one-year extension options.

A value of the contract was not disclosed.

“This new contract expands our presence in one of Australia’s gas hubs,” Transfield managing director Graeme Hunt said.

The agreement builds on Transfield’s existing $45 million offshore maintenance contract with Woodside, which was awarded in 2012.

Transfield also has contracts with Santos, QGC, Origin Energy, ExxonMobil, Shell and Caltex.

Shares in Woodside were 1.7 per cent higher at $36.25 per share, while Transfield shares were trading 1.7 per cent lower at $1.72 per share at 10am.
