Transfield Services today announced it had been awarded a maintenance and shutdown contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore at its Mt Whaleback operation in Newman, Western Australia.
The contract is worth up to $20 million in the first year of the three-year contract. It also has two one-year extension options.
Transfield Services will provide mechanical and electrical maintenance and planned shutdown services.
Transfield Services' CEO, Australia and New Zealand, Mr Bruce James, said today: "This contract expands on our ten-year relationship with BHP Billiton that covers work in their nickel, coal and now iron ore productions around Australia."
