Tilbrook joins Woodside board

Woodside Petroleum has appointed former Wesfarmers senior executive Gene Tilbrook to its board as a non-executive independent director.

Mr Tilbrook resigned as finance director of Wesfarmers in 2009 after 24 years at the company and has since held non-executive roles at a number of national companies.

He is a non-executive director of Aurizon Holdings, Orica, Fletcher Building, GPT Group and Bell Shakespeare Company.

He was elected president of the Australian Institute of Company Directors WA division in July last year and is a councillor of Curtin University.

Mr Tilbrook’s appointment will be effective December 4.

He will serve alongside former Wesfarmers managing director Michael Chaney, who is chairman at Woodside but has signalled plans to retire after his current term.
