Thiess wins major energy contract

Engineering services company Thiess has been awarded a $125 million contract with Western Power to upgrade and maintain its electrical distribution network in parts of Western Australia.

The contract will see Thiess service Western Power’s network in metropolitan Perth, the south-west and mid north-west regions of WA.

The two year contract is valued at $125 million with the option for two further one-year extensions.

Thiess managing director Bruce Munro said the deal reaffirms Thiess’ role in the transmission and distribution sector.

“This demonstrates the commitment and leadership of the Thiess team in WA, our depth of expertise, quality of service and commitment to safety and innovation,” he said.
