Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA is hosting a leadership forum with three WA entrepreneurs from very different backgrounds, March 14 at the Perth Convention Centre. As premier of Victoria between 1992 and 1999, Jeff Kennett and his government made many social and economic changes to the state, including implementing reforms to the pubic service, leading Australia in the privatisation of public utilities and reducing state deficit from $33 billion to $5.5 billion. Richard Goyder is head of one of Australia’s largest public companies; Wesfarmers Ltd. Wesfarmers employs over 30,000 staff Australia-wide and recently recorded a profit for the first six months to December 31 2006 of $391.9 million. Whether it is coaching the Australian women’s hockey team, captaining WA cricket, winning a seat in federal parliament, working with the Fremantle Dockers as a high performance coach, or writing three top selling books, Dr Ric Charlesworth has succeeded in all of his business and sporting endeavours. He is widely recognised within both the sporting and corporate arenas as a respected world-class leader. These three speakers will each share their story, pointing to challenges they have faced and techniques they used to overcome these hurdles. Registration for this 8.30am to 12.30pm forum costs $418 per person. For more information contact CCI on 9365 7500 or email functions@cciwa.com.
