THE Electricity Industry Reference Group, a key component of the Western Australian Government’s plan to implement electricity industry reform in the State is ready for business with the appointment of its chairman David Agostini.
The group had its first meeting on July 21.
The other members of the EIRG, which offers feedback to the Electricity Reform Implementation Unit and Energy Minister Eric Ripper, were named last month and include Alcoa World Alumina Australia managing director Wayne Osborn, Alinta CEO Bob Browning and Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Lyndon Rowe.
The group had been awaiting Mr Agositini’s appointment.
Mr Agostini is a member of the Council of Australian Governments Energy Market Review Panel, is a senior consultant to the petroleum industry and adjunct professor oil and gas engineering at the University of Western Australia.
