The Cut hosts WA PGA Championship

THE Cut will host the first of a two-year Oceanique WA Professional Golfer Association of Australia Championship from May 24 to 27. More than 170 PGA golf professionals have already entered the championship, including Scott Draper, Martin Doyle, Euan Walters, Scott Strange, David Diaz, Marcus Cain, Richard Backwell, Gary Simpson, Tim Wise, Dean Alaban, Steve Collins and Chris Downes. The championship carries a $105,000 prize purse, making it the richest sporting event ever to be held in the Peel region. Entry to the four-day event is free, with kids’ activities planned for Saturday and Sunday. For those wanting their little one to become the next Tiger Woods, the tournament is putting on a junior coaching clinic. And for something a little less serious, there is the newly created ‘Beach Platform’, which will overlook four holes and certainly will be a favourite spot for many guests. Tee-off on Thursday and Friday is at 7.50am, while Saturday and Sunday rounds get underway from 8.30am.
