On Friday August 27 the Committee for Economic Development of Australia will hold The China Story – Resources and Beyond at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
In light of Western Australia’s role as Australia’s primary source of mineral and resources production, the conference will explore the importance of some major resource deals and the significance of building and developing strong contacts within the global market.
Last year WA’s mineral and petroleum production reached more than $27 billion and comprised around half the total figure for Australia.
Western Australia can continue to benefit from China’s economic growth, which is currently accelerating at an unprecedented rate.
This nation has the potential to provide Australia with new export opportunities and our proximity to China gives WA an advantage over global competitors.
Currently Australia’s third biggest trading partner behind the US and Japan, China may move to second if current trends continue.
The conference will discuss these topics as well as look at bettering negotiation skills to maintain key contacts, and create strong relationships in this marketplace.
Registrations for this event can be made with CEDA for $82 for members, and $94 for non-members.
