The Brand Agency has been named advertising agency of the year, capping off a jam packed 2008 where more than $18 million of business was secured.
At the Campaign Brief awards held on Friday night, The Brand Agency also won awards for best television advertisement for insurer RAC and best online campaign for Drug Aware, through digital agency Longtail.
Strategic planning director Paul Yole said the awards capped off a good year despite tough conditions.
"It was a pretty tough year all round... but we did pretty well, we're very happy with the outcome," Mr Yole told WA Business News.
Throughout the year, The Brand Agency won six new business pitches including Curtin University, Western Power, Alinta and Kailis Pearls.
It also retained client RAC following a mandatory review.
Mr Yole said all up, the agency was able to secure $18.4 million through new pitches and retention of existing clients in 2008.
He said it was good result considering the agency lost its account with BankWest the previous year.
It is a similar story so far in 2009 with The Brand Agency losing the $4 million Burswood Entertainment Complex contract to rival Gatecrasher, ending a seven-year partnership.
However, Mr Yole said the agency has since replaced the lost Burswood contract by winning three new pitches including City Farmers.
