APEC support for the Doha round of world trade negotiations and for accelerated negotiations on an Australia-Thailand free trade agreement during his visit to Thailand this week.
Mr Vaile will be in Thailand to attend the APEC Ministers for Trade meeting and to hold talks with the Thai ministers concerning the FTA.
He will also discuss developments concerning the Australia-US FTA with US trade representative Bob Zoellick and will meet separately with Director-General of the WTO, Dr Supachai Panitchpakdi.
