MORE than half of Thailand’s 5,000 tariffs will be eliminated as the Australia-Thailand Free Trade Agreement comes into effect later this year or early next year.

Western Australian businesses accounted for around a quarter of Australia’s total exports to Thailand last year – about $2.2 billion – but it is hoped this figure will improve once the tariffs are eliminated or reduced.
