Team changes at WATC Marketing & Communication

Western Australian Tourism Commission has made several new appointments to their marketing andcommunications team.

Ross Gregory  has been appointed director marketing, Western Hemisphere and Future Markets. He has worked in the international marketing area with the WATC for five years. Before that, his private and public sector marketing background has included senior management positions with international brewers, the airline industry and the Northern Territory Tourist Commission.

Rowden Sharpe is the new director marketing, Australia. Mr Sharpe has over 27 years of tourism marketing experience in both the private and public sector, having been director of sales & marketing for Rendezvous Observation City Hotel and the Burswood Resort Hotel. He worked at the WATC in marketing and promotions in the 1980s.

Kelly MacLean takes up the new position of on-line marketing coordinator. Previously, she was sales and marketing manager at Central TAFE where her online initiatives included websites, customer portals, online payments, databases, and internet, email and SMS marketing activities.

Penny Walsh joins as manager, media and public affairs following three years as corporaten affairs coordinator with the Water Corporation where she provided PR support for the Corporation’s capital works projects, including community consultation, media liaison and issues management.

Gabriela Schelle is the new public relations manager, event tourism. She was previously with the Fire And Emergency Services Authority as media and public affairs officer where she worked on major events, sponsorship, and communication and marketing strategies.

Paula Wallace, who has been working at the commission as public relations manager, event tourism, has taken up the role of media and public affairs officer. Before joining the Commission, Paula worked in media for government agencies in WA and Victoria.
