West Perth-based oil company Tap Oil Ltd has restarted production at the Woollybutt field after technical and compliance issues cause it to be shut down earlier this year.
The field, a joint venture between Tap Oil, operator ENI Australia Ltd and Mobil Australia Resource Co Pty Ltd, is now producing around 6000 barrels of oil per day. Production is expected to be ramped up to 12,000bopd when the Woollybutt South 4H well comes online in the near-term.
The field is off the coast of Western Australia, some 40 kms from Barrow Island.
