WA’S newest telecommunications carrier, Swiftel, has joined forces with Singapore Telecom to launch a major assault on the Perth communications market.
Swiftel and Sing Tel recently signed a memorandum of understanding to share services to provide their respective clientele with global bandwidth access and the latest communications products.
SingTel will concentrate primarily on the Perth corporate market, providing first tier international Internet bandwidth, managed data services including frame relay,
international private lease circuits, asynchronous transfer mode, and private Internet Protocol (IP).
It will use Swiftel’s fibre optic infrastructure network which will cover more than 80 per cent of Perth’s central business district.
Swiftel will also offer customers the opportunity to lease their own separate, secure lines delivering up to ten gigabytes per second for their individual networks.
