Swiftel starts cable roll out

WA’S newest telecommunications carrier Swiftel Ltd has started its Perth roll-out of fibre optic cable.

The new high-capacity Allwave fibre cable will be initially laid in Perth’s central business district and has the capacity to deliver data at up to 10 gigabytes per second.

Swiftel CEO Chris Gale said it was the first time in Australia that such advanced fibre optic cable had been laid.

“This allows Swiftel customers to deliver data in the Perth CBD at far quicker speeds and capacity than what can currently be achieved,” he said.

“Our marketing strategies are also significantly advanced, with alliance agreements in place with Singapore Telecom and Bincom Satellite Systems.

“These agreements will result in immediate sales.”
