Digital entertainment system business Swift Networks has won a contract to provide its services to Rio Tinto’s Jerriwah Village near Tom Price, for an undisclosed sum.

The village comprises 420 new rooms across 105 accommodation buildings and six support buildings.

Under the contract, Swift will provide infrastructure and support services for free-to-air and pay TV channels, WiFi internet in rooms and common areas, and phone services, as well as ongoing maintenance.

“We are proud that Rio Tinto has chosen Swift to keep its guests entertained, informed and in touch with family and friends at Jerriwah Village,” Swift chief executive Xavier Kris said.

“The company looks forward to further extending its relationship with Rio Tinto and the opportunity to provide its full suite of services to more Rio sites in Australia and abroad in the future.”

Swift listed on the ASX in May after completing a reverse takeover of Stanfield Funds Management.

Swift shares were down 2.4 per cent to 20 cents each at 11:20am.
