Swick Mining Services has added further momentum to its North American expansion plans, today announcing it had signed its first United States contract.

The announcement is below:

Swick Mining Services (ASX:SWK) is pleased to announce that it has secured its first underground diamond drilling contract in the United States, providing further momentum for the Company's North American expansion program.
The Company has secured an underground diamond drilling contract with a new client with a project located in Alaska. Swick is unable to disclose specific client or project details at this time.

The Company will provide one underground diamond rig for a drilling program that is expected to commence in September 2009 and take up to four months to complete. Swick will mobilise a new underground diamond drill rig from its Sudbury headquarters in Canada for the contract.

The new drilling contract is the Company's second commercial drilling agreement in North America, following on from the drilling trial secured in June 2009 with Agnico-Eagle Mines at the LaRonde Gold Mine in the Province of Quebec, Canada. The drilling programs provide Swick with an opportunity to showcase the benefits of its market leading mobile underground diamond drill rig and represent another step forward for the Company's growth program in North America.
