Swan replacement

THE Swan Brewery has found a replacement for outgoing managing director Mike Molloy.

Bob Baily will head up the WA operations of Lion Nathan, joining the Canning Vale-based business from Swan’s sister, South Australian Brewing.

Mr Baily has headed that operation for the past four years, joining beer sales after nationally launching Ampol Road Pantry, running the sales and marketing of SPC and operating his own supermarkets in Albury Wodonga on the NSW-Victorian border.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the liquor world, speculation was mounting that delays in resolving the future of the Porters buying group, whose brand was bought by Coles-Myer with the purchase of ALG in April, were causing turmoil within the organisation.

Speculation that several senior State level players had quit was confirmed by a number of sources, but none of those named could be contacted for comment.
