Subi sales talk seems to have hit the spot

A RESTAURANT transfer application received by the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor appears to confirm speculation that a tavern could open opposite The Subiaco Hotel.

While Colonial Club Cafe owner Lidija Perisic would not say whether the cafe and two adjoining shops had been sold, the transfer application was lodged by Busen Pty Ltd on May 24, about the time the nearby Rokeby Road-facing Maya Masala site was sold.

Busen directors Keith Kimber and son, Murray, declined to comment on the transfer, and Murray Kimber denied purchasing the lease of Colonial Club Cafe or the adjoining stores, Lucy Parrot Antiques and Maya Masala Indian Brasserie.

The leaseholder of the Subiaco Maya Masala, Sid Grewal, confirmed the sale of his lease but would make no further comment.
