South Perth based bamboo flooring company Style Ltd has appointed Peter Torreele as chief executive officer effective immediately.
South Perth based bamboo flooring company Style Ltd has appointed Peter Torreele as chief executive officer effective immediately.
The Board has been concerned to identify a suitably qualified executive with international experience to lead the Company through the next phases of its development, and decided that Mr Torreele's experience and knowledge of the Company provided it with the ideal candidate.
Peter has undertaken a review of the Company's operations and market positioning for the Board.
Mr Torreele said, "that while operations will be refined the review indicates the need to strengthen them significantly. The company will continue to focus on its underlying strategic opportunities to provide leading edge, environmentally sustainable, high performance flooring and related products based on its proprietary strand-woven bamboo technology."
Peter Torreele has over 20 years of international business experience with leading global companies in the Consumer and Services Industries.
He has particular expertise in the areas of strategy, marketing, business
development and government relations.
Peter is a former Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (Davos) where he was responsible for the Centre for Regional Activities in Geneva and the Centre for Global Growth Companies in Beijing.
Before joining the Forum in 2003, Peter had an international career as a Senior Executive in two Fortune500 companies, Roche Group and Danone Group.
Chris Ritchie as CFO has over 20 years of financial management experience across a range of ASX listed companies in the construction, agriculture and commodity markets. This includes over ten years of experience in
international trade, specifically in Asia and the Middle East.
The current Chairman and CEO, Greg Johnson, will step down from operational involvement in the Company's activities. He will remain as Chairman of the Company.
Greg founded the Company over 10 years ago and has been the Company's Chairman and CEO. He steered the company through its early years delivering the entrepreneurial spirit and drive it required.
During the period the Company's manufacturing and product base has expanded significantly.
Commenting on the changed role Greg said, "the changes announced today reflect a move that I have wanted for some time. The Company has grown to a point where I recognised the need for a broader executive team with a
wider set of management skills. The appointments of Peter and Chris bring these skills to the Company for its next stage of growth. I look forward to working with them as Chairman of the Company".
Current Executive Director Sean McDaniell has decided to step down as a director in order to focus entirely on his important executive role as Head of Operations in the Executive Leadership team.
Current Director Stephen Roux, who has been coordinating investor relations, will pass this responsibility on to the CFO and will remain as an independent director, and Wayne Gill will become Deputy Chair.
