Strong performance by hotel sector

EVERY major hotel market in Australia has recorded record yield growth for the second successive quarter. According to Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, Australian Bureau of Statistics tourist accommodation performance data for the June quarter indicates that all major markets recorded growth in revenue per available room. Perth’s average occupancy was 70 per cent, a 5.8 per cent increase on the same quarter last year. Revenue per room available has jumped 14.7 per cent to $74.52, and the average daily rate has increased 8.4 per cent to $105.25.
