Striker set to process tailings

DIAMOND miner Striker Resources has completed set-up of a second diamond processing plant to process a tailings stockpile at its wholly-owned Merlin diamond project in the Northern Territory. The plant has been modified so as to be capable of processing 10 tonnes per hour. According to Striker, preliminary testing of the stockpile provided a grade of 950 carats per hundred tonnes from a 1.8 tonne sample. The stockpile represents the entire sort-house reject tailings from the Merlin operation and comprises up to 10,000 tonnes, the company said. A March resource upgrade at the Merlin field by Striker put it at 19 million tonnes at an average grade of 17.4cpht for 3 million carats.
